Why We Like It
Have you ever considered hummus to be a sweet treat snack or dessert? Similar to cookie dough, this dessert hummus is healthier, contains less sugar and will definitely satisfy a sweet craving! Check out our other versions…Brownie Batter and Snickerdoodle!
Blend Together First:
- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
- 1/4 cup almond butter (or nut butter of your choice)
- 3 Tbsp almond milk (unsweetened, or skim or soy milk)
- 3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Add to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
(Add another tablespoon of milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.)
Add and Blend Again:
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (60% or higher cacoa, or use 2 Tbsp dark chocolate chips and 2 Tbsp cacao nibs)
Add to the food processor or blender and pulse a few times until combined.
Transfer the hummus to a bowl.
Serve and Enjoy!
Serve immediately or place in the refrigerator in a covered container until ready to serve.
Enjoy with apple slices, pear slices, strawberries, bananas, or whole grain crackers.
